Bette is one of those mares
that reminds you she's a Spanish Mustang.
When we first brought her here, she let us know
that this wasn't her home.
She promptly left.
Now.....she left quietly
so we didn't know she was gone.
She went over fences, under fences
& she was headed home.........
She was headed in the right direction too!

A rancher about 8 miles from here, called to tell us
she was in his 1000 acre pasture headed east.
We loaded up a gelding , drove to the pasture & let him out.
He gathered her up over night so that we could pen them ( she did NOT want to be caught)
When we brought her home, we penned her until after she foaled.
She was just fine after that.

She has had three foals since her escape.
She throws solid bodied, colorful , gaited babies with size.
\She is a great mother & a pleasure to have in the herd
( now that she decided to stick around)
