To-Bulls X Star Shadow His mother had been bred for a June, 2006 foal. I put her with To-Bulls as a companion mare because she was one of his mares anyway. She lost her foal early in the winter but I didn't know it until we got a warm snap at the end of Jan, 2006, when she came back into season. Because she wasn't at the home pasture, I didn't notice until the end of her cycle. He was born two days before the Great Ice Storm of 2007. I knew it was coming so I got prepared. What a time for a new baby to be born ! |

| I bought a foal blanket a few years ago just in case. This is the first time I've needed to use it. The blanket wasn't as heavy as I thought this new baby needed, so I added a folded up blanket liner underneath. It wasn't long before the older colts pulled it off of him so I duct taped it back on. The next morning the liner was off but the red blanket stayed put. |
| With night quickly approaching & the liner blanket in the washer, I needed to find something else to use for a liner. I'd bought an oversized, down filled, vest that nobody wanted, for $1 at a garage sale. As you can see, it turned out to be a perfect fit. It works better than the folded up blanket. I snapped it up & it stayed on. I have a larger & heavier blanket on it's way. No telling how long it'll stay cold. |
