I named this filly Hokawyn which means badger woman. It was soon apparent that I chose the
right name for her.
Her dam, one of my favorite mares, Ziggy, was attacked by wild dogs or something canine.
She died from her injuries so the filly became an orphan at eight weeks old. She sure is a
trooper! She was eating feed OK but I kept her on dry milk replacer mixed with feed until she
was seven months, due to the stress of it all.
